Drawing Zoë Deluge.

I spent no less than 45 minutes drawing this page. Perhaps I faced too much difficulty when I came to draw Zoë. I realized that, as much as I love drawing girls, I seem to avoid (or just not pay attention to) the tall, lean ones, and I’m not sure why. I never seemed to know where her hips started or where her breasts would be. While I think I like the end result of this study doodle page, it’s clearly awkward. I think I should probably look up nude supermodels and start there. Maybe then I’ll come back to people like Zoë, and enjoy drawing model-type girls more, while doing a much better job.
I really enjoy drawing lookbookers. I love attempting to define their styles with my doodles. I don’t remember how I ended up choosing Zoë from my list, I try to avoid “trendy” styles when I feel like taking my time with drawing and have a collection of references… however, I was mistaken about her style, because Zoë is much more like a vintage Barbie doll than a trendy model.
I admire her ability to make thrifted, vintage items look modern and sophisticated. It’s also amazing how simple her outfits are, yet so complete (this is normally my main problem with one-piece, or un-layered outfits - it always looks to me like they could use some work. Zoë stands out from this.) She is also a gorgeous girl - I fall in love with her hair every time I look at it, and I adore her mouth. The way her teeth stick out even though her mouth is so small, like a rabbit, is one of her cutest features.
Besides her beautiful face and her unique style, Zoë is one of the sweetest, most open minded people I have ever had the privilege to talk to. We have a mutual respect for one another and I truly appreciate that. She is kind and gentle, honest, friendly and has a very big heart. I love how open minded she is about accepting different styles, as well as how she does a fantastic job of not being an offensive person… to anything, from races and sexualities to lifestyles and diets.
